We are excited to share that the Members and Members’ staff Services Team (MMSST) are planning a roadshow event in Yorkshire and the Humber this October. This forms part of a wider programme of roadshows taking place across the UK throughout the year.
What to expect
The roadshow event is aimed at all Members’ staff and is a valuable opportunity to:
Learn more about the wide range of support and services available to you
Connect with colleagues from other local offices
Attend informative presentations and engaging breakout sessions
Meet 1-2-1 with key service providers
Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided.

The MMSST are keen to hear from you as we begin to plan the event. Your input will help us tailor the event to your needs.
The roadshow will take place during October 2025. We have not yet confirmed a location for the roadshow, as we are keen to hear your feedback and preferences for location within the region. We are provisionally looking to host the event w.c. 27 October.

Event details
The roadshows are open to all Members’ staff. There will be two roadshow events taking place in Scotland:
Inverness Roadshow on Tuesday 9 September 2025
Glasgow Roadshow on Wednesday 10 September 2025.
Both events will follow the same agenda, so please attend the event that is more convenient for you to travel to.
To register to attend please email (MMSST@parliament.uk) and you will be sent an outlook invitation. Please register your interest by Tuesday 2 September.

The agenda will include informative presentations from IPSA and the Home Office, as well as updates from the House Administration. The events are also a chance to connect and network with colleagues from other local offices.

The MMSST is pleased to announce the launch of two new forums for Members’ Staff, one for Parliamentary Assistants and Researchers and one for staff in Communication and Administration roles.
There are now four dedicated Forums for Members’ staff, each tailored to specific job roles. The forums serve as a space for you to connect with colleagues, ask questions, share best practices, and stay informed about services, training opportunities, and upcoming events.
Parliament is proud to support Mental Health Awareness Week (MHAW), running from Monday 12th – Sunday 18th May 2025.This year’s theme, set by the Mental Health Foundation, is “Community” and the campaign is an opportunity to raise awareness and support good mental health for all.
As part of a wider programme of events taking place throughout MHAW, the Members and Members’ staff Services Team (MMSST)invites all Members’ staff to join us for two events: an in-person networking event on Tuesday 13 May, drop in between 2 – 4 pm in the Jubilee Room, Palace of Westminster. Light refreshments will be provided.
And a virtual Teams event Thursday 15 May, drop in between 1-2 pm. Bring your own tea/coffee and biscuits or a cheeky slice of cake.

The Members and Members’ Staff Services Team are thrilled to announce the launch of accredited Continuing Professional Development(CPD) courses. CPD refers to any activity that encourages participants to learn new skills, knowledge or expertise that will help them progress in their chosen career.
The Members and Members’ Staff Services Team (MMSST) invites you to attend the first ever Members’ Staff Annual Conference.
The event will take place on Wednesday 19 March 2025, and will be a hybrid event with spaces available to attend in-person (Portcullis House) and online via Teams.
The conference will spotlight the crucial role that Members’ staff play in supporting constituencies and parliamentary work.
The day will feature a series of workshops led by both internal and external guest speakers, all centred around the theme of housing.

The Members and Members’ staff Services Team (MMSST) invites all Members’ staff to attend the first All Members’ Staff Networking Event of 2025.
The event is an opportunity for you to connect with fellow Members’ staff and meet colleagues from the services that are here to support you. Light refreshments will be provided.
The Members and Members’ Staff Services Team runs a monthly online Q&A session for MPs’ staff, which takes place over MS Teams. It is open to all MPs’ staff, regardless of their job role.
If you would like to pre-register any questions, you can do so by emailing MMSST@parliament.uk, but they will also take questions without notice at the event and will do their best to answer as many as they can during the meeting. They will provide written guidance following each session.
