The Civil Service Football Club (CSFC) are recruiting players for the 2024/25 season from across Government. CSFC run eleven teams competing in games across London, with our home ground being in Chiswick. This includes eight eleven-a-side men’s teams, two women’s teams and one veteran’s team (40+).
For men training runs every Wednesday at 7pm, for women training is every Thursday evening. Training is held on fantastic facilities at our home ground the Kings House School Sports Ground, London W4 2SH, a 20-minute train ride from Waterloo or Vauxhall to Barnes Bridge.
The club caters for a full spectrum of footballing abilities, ranging from near semi-professional standard in the first team to more socially orientated football in the lower teams. With eleven teams it’s a great way to make friends both within the team you play in and across the club.
The 2023/24 season was a successful season for the club, winning two league titles with other sides being runners up in leagues and Cups. There was a great end of season dinner with 120 players and a very successful tour to Bilbao in Spain including playing a game at Athletic Bilbao’s training ground and attending a La Liga game.
Increased physical activity has been identified as a priority area for Civil Service health and well-being initiatives. Playing competitive 11-a-side football is a great way to exercise, it’s also a great way to socialise and meet people from across the civil service and beyond.
The Civil Service Football Club is one of the most important clubs in football’s history. Recognised as the oldest association football club in the world CSFC were one of the dozen founding sides (most of the others are now defunct or play rugby union) of the Football Association on 28 October 1863, and were also one of the 15 entrants to the first ever FA Cup competition in 1871-72, last season they hosted the FA Cup second round draw. In 2013 they played in the only ever game played inside the grounds of Buckingham Palace
Are you a runner? How do you fancy having a go at the Three Bridges Race in your lunchtime?
The monthly Three Bridges Race from Westminster Bridge to Vauxhall Bridge, via Lambeth Bridge (the Three Bridges) has been going for nearly fifty years. It’s 2.3 miles, starting at 12.30pm on a Wednesday (ok, not great for PMQs).
The Women’s Parliamentary Football Team trains on Wednesday mornings from 0800 to 0900 and they have 5-a-side matches on Mondays for 30 mins in a league.
The football team is a great group to have fun, make friends and get some exercise before / after work! We’ve had amazing events too, such as hosting the Women’s Afghan Refugee Football Team, training at Tottenham Hotspurs stadium and a match against Camden FC.
If you’re interested in joining, please email [email protected] with your phone number & the name of who you work for.

Two years ago today, Meg Williams organised the successful inaugural event which took place at Lord’s Cricket Ground, and later that summer a small team took part in their first soft ball cricket tournament. Needless to say, the last two years have been particularly busy, but with the light at the end of the tunnel in sight, this month will see the re-launch of the team.
With this in mind, the WPCT would be delighted if you are able to attend the first event on Monday 12 April, at 15h00 with Clare Connor, incoming President of the MCC, Managing Director Women’s Cricket, ECB and Former England captain for our virtual Cricket and Coffee event.
The team is for all abilities, whether you are new to the game, a professional or just have a passion for the sport and would like to get involved and learn more – open to MPs, Peers and staff of both.
The aim of this event is recruit members of the Women’s Parliamentary Cricket Team, with the aim of setting up a regular training schedule, ready for some fixtures, as well as social events throughout the year.
To RSVP to the event, or if you would like to get involved with the team please email [email protected].
Welcome to Lords, MPs and Staff of both Houses – we are looking for new recruits of all abilities. The team is looking to hold semi regular training sessions, and some summer fixtures, as well as social events.
Our first event is a Virtual Cricket and Coffee, with Clare Connor – incoming President of the MCC, Managing Director Women’s Cricket, ECB and Former England captain.
If you’ve got an interest for cricket, and would like to have a try but haven’t before had the chance, please email [email protected].
Westminster Wanderers Football Club is an established and successful adult amateur Sunday league club. The club is affiliated to the London FA and plays in the Southern Sunday Football League which operates across Lambeth, Wandsworth and Merton.
We have players from politics, researchers, advisers, public affairs, policy, the civil service, PR, journalism, academia and beyond, and are cross-party. We’re very grateful for the support we’ve had and players we’ve found from W4MP in recent years.
We welcome new players and would be delighted if you want to get in touch and try out for the Club. Just contact us and we’ll provide you with details of forthcoming sessions. We also have a casual 8aside match on Monday night for players who can’t be involved in regular 11aside.
We are an FA Charter Standard Club and run four teams in league and cup competitions. The Club is managed by a committee and has policies for welfare and the health and safety of our players.
Our home ground is Fishponds Field in Tooting and we have practice sessions most weeks usually at Battersea Park. The club also has a strong social programme and an annual tour which has taken us to Iceland, Latvia and Spain in recent years.
You can see more about us on social media – on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter (@WestminsterWFC). And you can reach us via these channels or email: [email protected]. Please do get in touch.
