How much do you know about the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)?

  • Reporting a whistleblowing concern.

In order to find out more about the EAP, the Members’ Services Team have invited Health Assured to deliver a webinar exclusively for Members’ staff. They will talk in more detail about who they are, how to access their services and how to use the online portal. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you might have about the service.

The session is one hour long and will be taking place on Thursday 30 July 1.30pm. To book your place, please email [email protected]

Daily Update 01/04/2020

Standard

As of today we will be posting a short daily summary of the latest Covid-19 news, focusing on the most important stories of the day. Our aim is try and highlight the issues which we think will be most relevant to people working in Parliament.

Today saw the largest increase in UK Covid-19 deaths in a single day since the pandemic began. Of the 563 people that have died, the youngest was only thirteen years old.

Politically, the main story today has been the government’s pledge to test NHS staff. So far 2,000 NHS staff have been tested out of a total 500,000, a disparity which has led to the government receiving criticism. The government maintains that their strategy is to increase the amount of testing taking place amongst NHS workers and the population as a whole.

The government has also promised an additional £12 billion to local authorities in England to support business. Local authorities have been urged by the government to distribute these funds as quickly as possible.

Parliamentary or political? Advice on use of House-provided stationery in the coming months

Standard

The Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards has issued a reminder to Members about the appropriate use of House-provided stationery, particularly in the run-up to the May elections and the EU Referendum. Your Member will have received this message by email on 4 April, and a hard copy has been circulated to the Westminster offices. Please do take time to read this, and refer to the current rules on the use of the House emblem and House of Commons stationery published on the intranet.
