The Associate Parliamentary Sustainable Resource Group (APSRG) is looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic individual with a proven interest in politics and environmental sustainability issues to join a small and dynamic team.
The APSRG is leading forum informing debate between Parliament, Government, business and the sustainable resource community on the crucial issues affecting sustainable resources in the UK.
An independent and not-for-profit organisation, the APSRG plays an important role fostering dialogue between senior business leaders and civil servants, key parliamentarians and government ministers, promoting greater political engagement with the sustainable resource agenda and more effective policy in this important area.
Job duties:
Parliamentary monitoring including writing the weekly ebulletin and policy briefings
Assisting with the coordination of parliamentary seminars, receptions and meetings
Assisting in preparatory work for the 2010 general election
General research and administrative support
Other duties as required by the team
Experience/qualifications/Training:
Undergraduate (or higher) degree in social or environmental sciences or related fields
Proven written and research skills
A demonstrated interest in UK politics (first hand experience preferable)
A demonstrated interest in the field of environmental sustainability
The ability to work independently and in a team and to deadlines
High IT ability
The internship will commence Monday 19 January 2010 for 3 days per week. It is located in central London.
Interns will be paid national minimum wage £5.73 per hour.
