The participation of vulnerable children has become recognised as an issue of major importance. Vulnerable children and young people crave to have a say in the way decisions are made about their lives and often feel they do not have adequate, appropriate opportunities to do so. Participation is vital for children to develop skills and competencies, achieve mental and physical health and determine meaning and purpose in life.
This unique one day conference offers the opportunity to explore the role of participation in decision making. We will hear from our own trailblazing local authorities, residential providers, independent fostering agencies, practitioners, Government and academic experts who will inform on best practice development and future strategy. The programme is designed to ensure good debate and exchange of ideas. |
